Elizabeth was born Erzebet Bathory to a wealthy and prominent family. She
was the daughter of Baron and Baroness George and Anna Bathory.
She was Highly educated,she spoke Hungarian,German and Latin.
By The age of 11,She was engaged to Ferenc Nadasdy (The Black Hero of Hungary)
Married, May 8, 1575. At the age of 15.
Elizabeth had an imense fear of growing old...it seamed there was nothing that displeased her more.
As story goes, many say: One evening one of the countesses maids was tending to her hair when she pulled it to hard. Elizabeth became enraged, and struck the girl,drawing blood. The Countess felt the were the girls blood had touched her own hand, looked younger...fresher somehow. She felt she discoverd the secret to eternal youth. She ordered the maid be stripped and drained of her blood for Elizabeth to bathe.
Sence Then Elizabeth tortured and killed as many as 600-650 virgin girls. Using devices such as; An Iron Maiden (a women shaped coffin whose interior contained rows of sharp spikes to impale her victims). A cyndrical cage that is too narrow to sit in, and too small to stand in (It has spikes on it, and when the cage is hoisted and rocked, the vicitm will skewer themselves on it.or.The cage is hoisted, but the victim is poked at with a red hot poker, and impales themselves.Eliabeth would sit under this cage, shout obscenities at her victim and "soak" up the blood that dripped down.)these amoungst whips, and other torture devices of its time.
When Elizabeth's dark way's were brought to an end. She was sentenced to spend to remaineder of her years in her torture room, which was seeled up with the exception of a tiny hole for food to be passed. Elizebeth spent 4 years in her tower before her death.
It is said that she was found by a gaurd who wanted to see the countess (who was still the most beautiful women of her time), peered throught the small window only to see her lying face down on her floor.)
